Meet the new Johnny Magory Brand Ambassador Nina Carberry

We are beyond excited to announce Irish sporting legend Nina Carberry as the new Johnny Magory brand ambassador.

So, Nina Carberry Walsh is quite simply a legend and really needs no introduction but here’s a bit of background (just in case!).

Jockey

Nina is the daughter of jockey Tommy Carberry and became a rider for Aidan O’Brien in 2015.

The renowned jockey hails from a famous racing family The Carberry’s and retired in 2018 at the age of 34

Highlights of Nina’s career include her first Cheltenham Festival win in 2005 but winning the Irish Grand National in 2011 will be a memory engrained in my mind forever.

In all, she rode 398 winners in Ireland (National Hunt and Flat), 23 in Britain and 2 in Germany.

Dancing with the Stars

Nina and pro-partner Pasquale La Rocca won RTÉ’s Dancing with the Stars 2022 because of weeks of sensational performances.

Ireland’s Fittest Family

Nina is set to join Davy Fitzgerald, Anna Geary and Donncha O’Callaghan on the coaching panel on RTÉ One’s hit entertainment Ireland’s Fittest Family.

Children Rosie and Holly

Nina has two amazing little ladies, Rosie and Holly, who will be our chief reviewers over the coming months. Aside from reading our books, they are also busy learning Tin-Whistle! So I’m looking forward to hearing a tune or two soon!

Kaleidoscope

We had the pleasure of meeting Nina, her husband Ted and the two girls Rosie and Holly at Kaleidoscope Family Music and Arts Festival 2022 in Russborough House. Nina and the gang were simply as sound as pounds! And we are beyond excited to work with them.

At Kaleidoscope, we also had the pleasure of meeting RTÉ’s Martin the Pine Marten and the hilarious presenter MC both of Martin’s Shed who did an impromptu broadcast from Tizzy our van to absolutely everyone’s delight.

 

Now, if only we could get some help with our own bold ponies and horses!
